Dr. Janet Gordils-Perez is an accomplished nurse executive who has made impactful contributions to advancing nursing practice and clinical care. Dr. Gordils-Perez is currently Chief Nursing Officer at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. She has extensive experience in the organization and delivery of oncology nursing and supportive care services across the care continuum. She has expertise in redesigning clinical processes, increasing revenue opportunities and the implementing innovative programs to improve the patient experience. In her capacity as Chief Nursing Officer, she has responsibility for a broad array of strategic and operational functions, including the development of professional practice standards, oversight of quality, and supporting a service-oriented culture focused on employee engagement and service excellence.
Dr. Gordils-Perez has presented nationally and locally on improving nursing sensitive patient outcomes, innovative program development and implementation (patient navigation and survivorship) and outcomes; and using six sigma lean in process improvement initiatives. She has been the recipient of several awards including the 2014 American Cancer Society Scholarship Award, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey 2013 Pillars of Excellence Award, and the Oncology Nursing Society 2013 Employer Recognition Award. She has served as an Oncology Nursing Society Abstract reviewer and on the review board of the Oncology Nursing Forum.
Dr. Gordils-Perez received a baccalaureate degree from The College of New Rochelle, a Master of Arts in the Delivery of Nursing Service from New York University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Duke University. Dr. Gordils-Perez is a member of several national and local organizations including Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Organization of Nurse Executives of New Jersey, the Oncology Nursing Society, and the American Nurses Association. Janet is Board Certified by the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC) and an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP).
